New rewards in the ThoughtScape Comics Zoop Campaign!
Hello ThoughtScape folks!
A couple days into week two of the ThoughtScape Comics Zoop campaign, and we're at $2205 and 94 backers! That's right, over a 1/3 of the way to our $6,000 funding goal! You all are amazing. If you haven’t backed yet, while we’re making steady progress, it’s definitely a different ball game on a brand new platform and a bit challenging to bring folks into the fold. So any support you can offer, including just helping to spread the word, is much appreciated. Direct your sci-fi loving friends to https://zoop.gg/c/thoughtscapecomics!
At TSC HQ, I've been keeping busy with promo, including some new podcasts that will drop next week, and diligently working on stories for future issues of the comic, including reviewing thumbnails for a story drawn by the great Desolina Fletcher, and writing Part Three of Ex Post Facto for Karl Slominski . Both these tales are slated for issue three. I also worked with the folks at Zoop to add some cool new rewards to the campaign. If you're interested in adding one of these to your pre-order/pledge, just place an order for the new reward and it will be combined into a single transaction at the end of the campaign.

That's right, you'll be drawn by Dave AND you will appear in one of my personal favorite features in the comics, the fake ads! Inspired by RoboCop, Starship Troopers and Total Recall, these ads build out the world of ThoughtScape Comics in funny or at least sarcastic ways. Here's a glimpse of one of the ads from TSC #1 so you can get a sense of the tone, along with images from Dave to give you a sense of the style of the likeness. Feel free to email or DM me if you have any questions about these rewards (firstname.lastname@example.org or mattmlpdx on Twitter).

Dave and I are super stoked for adding this fun bit to issue #2. I truly love writing and designing these ad pages, it's an absolute blast, and can't wait to make ThoughtScape backers an integral part of the ads and the issue. These fun, big ticket rewards will really help push us toward our goal, so if you're not interested but have a friend or three who might be, as always any help spreading the word is much appreciated.
More comics on Zoop!
If you're looking for more great projects to back, check out Thirty-Three from Juan Ponce, Gavin Guidry and Marco Finnegan: A middle-aged office drone and his dysfunctional family are confronted by his past; a league of genetically enhanced super assassins. Thirty-Three is an over-the-top dark action comedy and family drama. Think John Wick meets Raising Arizona, with a dash of Die Hard for good measure. Fans of Barry and WandaVision will feel right at home here, as will readers of Birthright and The Vision. That is a pretty fantastic pitch, and check out the fantastic cover below. Back it at https://zoop.gg/c/thirtythree!
Finally, I was incredibly impressed to see Nick Pitarra join the ranks of Zoop creators with yesterday's announcement of Ax-Wielder Jon. I've been a fan of Nick's work for years, and seeing him write and draw this and put it out through Zoop is incredibly inspiring and a huge vote of confidence in this new platform. CHECK OUT THIS COVER (WARNING: IT IS GRISLY BUT GORGEOUS), and sign up for notifications at https://zoop.gg/c/axwielderjon.
... YOU WERE WARNED ...
Alright, have a great end of the week! I'll be over here promo'ing and finishing reading A Scanner Darkly and diving into Blood's A Rover and maybe sleeping a bit. MAYBE.
